Or do it this way.. the "Microsoft" Way In order to enable IP forwarding on the Windows 2000 machine, proceed with the following: 1. Select Start > Run 2. In the Run dialog box, enter "regedit" in the Open field 3. Click on OK 4. In the Registry Editor, expand and select the following branch from the left pane: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Tcpip\Parameters 5. In the right pane, select the IPEnableRouter key 6. Select Edit > Modify 7. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, enter "1" in the Value data field 8. Click on OK in the Edit DWORD Value dialog box 9. Select Registry > Exit to exit the Registry Editor 10.
