Still working on secureing our VPN solution. I'm looking for a laundry list of both personal firewalls and dsl/cable routers that are confirmed to work with Securemote. If you could post to the list the manufacturer/vendor, model/software name, firmware/version, along with FW version (including SP) and SR version, encryption that you know works I believe a number of folks would be interested (OK at least one person, me, would be interested). Also, if its not too much to ask, what special steps, if any, did you have to do to get them to work. Here's my contribution: I've tested ZoneAlarm v2.6 (the free one, not the PRO) on FW-1 v4.1 SP3 with both the 4174 and 4185 Securemote, using both FWZ and Hybrid IKE. With 4174 I had problems allowing both SR and ZA to run at startup, 4185 didn't seem to be bothered. I also have to run the Internet security settings at the medium level. I've also run SR 4174, with Hybrid IKE behind a NetGear FR314 cable/dsl router/firewall (sorry it was a friends and at the time I didn't get the model firmware specifics). Since it was configured for NAT I had to force NAT mode support by editing the Objects.C file to include the userc_NAT and userc_IKE_NAT (true), and include the :isakmp.udpencapsulation .... active (true) items for my gateway objects (details found on the phoneboy site). Before doing these objects.c changes it would not work. I think this is a general NAT issue and not NetGear specific. I'm looking at Sygate Personal Firewall v4.1 right now. Ok so far but I only just installed it this morning. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Greg Winkler Systems Manager, IT&S Huntsman Corporation Internet Mail: [email protected] Voice:Fax:================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
