1. Install FW (Management Station, if the 2 are split) onto the Solaris box 2. Copy the $FWDIR/conf/policyname.W file to $FWDIR/conf/ -- the easiest way to do this is to FTP it in ASCII mode- otherwise you'll have to do a DOS2UNIX conversion. 3. move the old objects.C file (renamed) into the new $FWDIR/conf directory, and do a confmerge. -- rename the newly created $FWDIR/conf/objects.C to something like objects.new. rename the old (NT) objects.C file to objects.old. put them both in the new $FWDIR/conf/ directory, and run "fw confmerge objects.old objects.new>objects.C" 4. Do the old "fwm -g *.W" command (from $FWDIR/conf) to recompile the rulebases.fws file that the GUI reads. If your path isn't set up, run it like this: "$FWDIR/bin/fwm -g $FWDIR/conf/*.W" 5. Open up your GUI and look at your fancy new rulebase.
