If you are using NG FP3 or above, I would recommend using the
import/export scripts available from Check Point to accomplish this. All
you have to do is run the export command on the production box, and
after setting up the test box (go through the installation and cpconfig
- don't connect with GUI and make any changes), run the import command
to get a box that should have everything you need.

Thanks so much for you advice. I did exactly everything that you said.
When I ran cpstart after I initiated the CA, I got this message at the
end "setting module conf to files failed".

copy following files
*.fws
*.pf
(Pf and w files should be in pair i.e standard.w
should have standard.pf, ignore all teh files which
doesnt have corrosponding pair.)
*.w
object_5_0.c
and fwauth.ndb
and any other files which u have changed like
fwopsec.conf
Stop thefirewall services on new bo and copy these
files on $fwroot/conf directory.
reset the sic with fw sic_reset on the new box,
initialize the CA and start the firewall services.
