You can increase the number of connections or you can try
clearing the fwx_alloc table using the following command "fw tab -x
fwx_alloc". I am currently having similar (connections are not being
timed out of the connection table) issues with hide NAT that I am
working with Checkpoint on.

Try typing fw ctl pstat and look for failed allocations.

Your fw-1 kernel may be running out of memory, if you have a large
amount of failed allocations this may be the cause.

If it is there are various simple docs on increasing fw-1 kernels
memory, try www.phoneboy.com

Cheers,

Brendan
