Stefan,
Chris is correct. And the proper way of doing this now is to use the export/import functionality included in NG AI. And yes, you can export the config of an FP2 install and import it during install on any other OS platform.

I had many troubles on this using FP3 copying from Win to Unix and vice versa. I could open the rulebase with policy-editor after copying files but not installing the rulebase. On a FW1 certification exam I was told that this procedere is only painless if you copy these files to the same platform, e.g. Win to Win, Unix to Unix etc..... So use a test system and no production system and good luck.

Chris

Dear Stefan
No problems. U can o it in no time . just copy
following files from your old management server to the
new management server in the conf directory.
object_5_0.C
*.w
*.pf
*.fws
and any other files which you have changed like
fwopsec.conf or fwauth.NDB
Bounce the management server once u have copied these
files.
Regards
Vijay
