man rpm
--oldpackage
Allow an upgrade to replace a newer package with an
older one.
So this would be something like
# rpm -Uvh --oldpackage kernel-2.4.18-5smp.i686.rpm

Thanks very much Chris for timely help, and now how do I downgrade my
kernal? does somebody have any procedure document for downgrading the
Kernal?

Hi, I am facing below problem can anyboby help me? I have installed NGFW
with FP3 on linux 7.3 and the kernal is 2.4.18-10smp.
Problem statement
[root@ xyz root]# cpstart
cpstart: Start product - SVN Foundation
SVN Foundation: Starting cpWatchDog
SVN Foundation: Starting cpd
SVN Foundation started
cpstart: Start product - FireWall-1
FireWall-1: fw1 module not loaded! please reboot or run with -driver
Can somebody help me?
