Hi, Did some checks on our test Management, from what I can see it works as follows ... the naming convention described by the other repliers is correct. The other digits seems to be used as follows : Let's assume on the 09th of July you switch the log file ... the active log file pointed at by fw.log, has a name containing the date of the previous log file creation ... 2003-07-02_235700_1.log which becomes when the logswitch happens 2003-07-09_235700.log and the new active one becomes 2003-07-09_235700_1.log until this one is switched where it becomes ... 2003-07-11_170502.log and the active one becomes 2003-07-11_170502_1.log This is the way it seems to work.
