[FW-1] HA FW1 Under linux (compaq, et al), Thoughts?

We are looking at deploying a number of new firewalls throughout our company.  In the

past we've used SUN hardware w/ Stonebeat.  We have also used Nokia systems recently.

 

In order to save some costs I've just started looking at FW1 under linux (on say compaq servers).

We require a HA (active/standby) solution for each enforcement point.  (looking about about 10 pairs).

Does anyone here have any experience w/ Checkpoint/Linux or 'Secure Platform' deployments?

 

Any comments on the day-day upkeep of such systems?

Issues w/ installing patch (OS or checkpoint) on such systems?

Et al.

 

We'll keep the management station on Solaris (provider-1 actually).  Just looking for some

'real world' feedback.
