Reed, I actually put all 4 of the files on the CD that are generated as a result of running "fw logswitch" (one of them being the .logptr file) The problem I'm seeing is that even when I have all four file on a CD, or any other kind of media for that matter, when I do a "File | Open" from the Checkpoint Log Viewer, it brings up a window that seems to be populated only with log files that are in the log directory of the firewall. It doesn't have a "Browse" button or any other way to point to a different location for the log files. Therefore, I don't see any way I can view logs that I have taken off the firewall. Any other suggestions? Thanks! This is just a guess, but here goes... What is it you export to the CD? Just the log file? For every log file, there's a .logptr-file as well. If this file is not present, it is generated when the log is opened. I guess opening a new file on the CD is difficult... ;) Just a hunch..
