RE: [FW1] SecuRemote User Database

It depends on which encryption scheme you are using. If you are using IKE
the password you have to change is located in the user properties ->
encryption tab -> edit your IKE properties and this is the place where that
encryption scheme password is stored. For FWZ it is stored in User
Properties - > Authentication tab. Most people change the password in just
one of these places and are not aware of what scheme they are using. I hope
that helps.

I've had similar problems in which I couldn't install new users also.. What
I did was a 'fw dbload <fw module>' on the commandline and that worked OK. I
must add that I experienced these problems when I suffered from strange GUI
errors also. Deleteing old rulebases solved this, but I haven't added users
since, so i don't know if that was somehow related to the problem you
posted..

Hope this helps..

Subject: [FW1] SecuRemote User Database

Hi,

i am having a little trouble with the user database for securemote.
Everytime I add a new user, or change the password of a current user the
details don't replicate to the place that securemote actually authenticates
against. I select to install database, which FW-1 reports it has done
sucessfully.

Does anyone know where exactly the database should be going to? Is it to the
Firewall or the managment server? (Our Securemote 'Site' is the valid
address of the managment server, but the database seems to be installed to
the firewalls)

SecuRemote works fine - but new accounts don't. There are a number of us
using the same account because this is the only one that we can get to work.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on here?

Thanks,

rich
