Interestingly, I noticed the exact *SAME* problem I mentioned at the bottom on another FW-1 standalone box (NT4.0 SP6, 4.1SP2). Try to load the log viewer either at the console or from a remote GUI client, and CPU pegs at 100% from fw.exe. A bounce of fw.exe allows me to get back into the log -- but it too is 1 hour behind. All servers are using NTP to get the correct time. Noticed in the log viewer today that the log entries are one hour behind. The management server's time is correct and is working with EDT. All firewalls also indicate that they are using EDT. Any ideas?
