Robert, This sounds more a link an idle timeout on your Ras Connection. by default I think it is 10 or 15 minutes it will disconnect you. Their is an option to turn off idle time out... you could try that and see if it fixes your problem. Or even try constantly working / sending data for me then 10 minutes and see if it disconnects.. if not.. I would say that would be the problem. I hope this helps. I use static NAT for the client and allowd IP 47 and TCP 1723. This connections worked propperly, but since one or two weeks the client session hangs-up after exact 10 minutes and the client has to redial. After 3 or 4 times redialing, the client must be rebootet. So, I've nothing changed at the firewall policy and the customer told me, that no changes were made to the PPTP-client and the PPTP-server. I'm not sure, if this is a timing problem of the firewall or the PPTP connection. Any ideas?
