RE: [FW1] IP Forwarding in Windows 2000

It is a reg hack

something like this....
h_key local/system/current control set/services/tcpip/parameters/ip enable
router 0=off 1=on

though I could be off on the exact location... it is close enough to
navigate to (i.e. use your head)

The service is called Routing and Remote Access and it is not that tricky to
set up. You really have 3 options; find a test server and play with the
service until you feel like you know what you are doing (we set it up in
less than a few hours with zero knowledge at the start), buy a good book
like Mastering Windows 2000 by Mark Minasi, or search around on Tech Net and
try to find a good how to article. Good luck! Tim

Subject: [FW1] IP Forwarding in Windows 2000

Hello,

I was setting up Windows 2000 and I went to go configure IP Forwarding in
Windows 2000, but I didn't understand it. I know it's not called IP
Forwarding in Win2K anymore. It is called Remote Access or something. I
opened the program and I saw my server (local) and then I right clicked on
and picked the configure option. When I do that, I get to pick from about 6
options. What do I pick and what I do? Enabling IP Forwarding in NT 4
Server was just checking a check box and that was it. Does anyone know how
to set it up in Windows 2000 Server? My current setup is like this. I have
3 interfaces (External, Internal, and DMZ and I'm using NAT). Thanks!

Javed
