Re: [FW1] Websense 4.2 for FW1 (is junk)

Hi Jason/FW List,

Cliff Notes Version: Downgrade to v3.11

Long Story Version:
I have the *same* problem. Last weeek, Websense
support told me they "never encountered" my (our)
problem.

Since v4 was introduced, I've been fighting to fix it
(since it was just me).

I have run Websense v3.11, v4.2.0, v4.2.1, and v4.2.2
on my NT4.0 server (SP5).

Version 4.x.x is junk in FW1 <==> NT-UFP
implementation. I can't speak for PIX for MS Proxy.

I just spoke to Websense support today (9/19/00)

-------
This is a "known issue with version 4". No date for
the fix. The only thing Websense recommended is to
down grade to v3.11 I'm doing that tonight.
-------

I'm not very happy our treatment. In particular, not
happy with the run around I have been getting from
their support for these last few months.

It's been a burden to me, but most importantly, to all
my users.

Why didn't they just announce that v.4 had this
problem for our configuration in the first place! Very
frustrating and time consuming, indeed.

This is me putting it mildly...ARGH!

Thanks (for letting me vent) -- Chris
