Hi Matt.

I did the same thing two weeks ago.
I did a backup of the conf dir and the database dir then i installed the
same version of fw1 and then a restore of conf and database.
Don't forget the routing table and arp table.

You also have too update the interfaces tab on your firewall objekt since
the interfaces name have changed.

We went from AIX too Solaris.

No problem.
