[FW-1] serial console ng ai splat

hi,

has anybody successfully configured GRUB to use the serial line?
the BIOS redirection works great (because this has nothing to do with
the os; just a config in the BIOS). but when GRUB starts:

        Loading GRUB Stage 2
        ....

        ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ
        ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ
        ...

i was playing around with the grub.conf file... but no success yet.
in the linux-howto's i've found the way it should look like:

Press any key to continue.
Press any key to continue.

GRUB version 0.90 (639K lower / 162752K upper memory)

 | |

Use the ^ and v keys to select which entry is highlighted.
Press enter to boot the selected OS or 'p' to enter a
password to unlock the next set of features.

The highlighted entry will be booted automatically in 10 seconds.

some changes later i can see the "Press any key to continue." but still nothing on
the serial line.

has anybody an example of grub.conf for secureplatform?

thanks,
markus
