Alfred Instead of permitting every user to go to the liveupdate page we use the enterprise edition of Norton Antivirus. You just need one pc permitted to go and fetch the updates, and this one then distributes the pattern files. There are also readmes available how to use an internal server as "fake " liveupdate server. Hope that helps Albert -----Original Message----- From: NG, Alfred [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 21 October, 2003 18:44 To: [email protected] Subject: [FW-1] Permitting entire domains for http/ftp Norton Liveupdate Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone has a solution for Checkpoint to allow all http/ftp traffic from liveupdate.symantec.com to be allowed outbound to retrieve liveupdates. I have noticed that liveupdate.symantec.com resolved to many IP addresses and simply creating a host object for each address will not work. Any ideas? Thanks guys!
