Jeffery, Never heard of it, but if it isn't free, I wouldn't bother. Depending on what you want to do, Big Brother is the best thing you'll ever find to monitor networks or systems applications. Any of these other packages you have to buy, and you'll end up having to extend or modify the package to do what you need or learn some special scripting language. Some companies you have to hire "special" consultants to set up their system monitoring package! Big Brother is easily extendable with very little scripting knowledge or with alot of scripting/programming knowledge you can tailor it to your needs. Just like LINUX and the open source movement, lots of folks have added to it, and it's pretty amazing what you can do with it with very little experience. Download the addons and you can monitor oracle, sybase, ldap, system uptime, IP connections, ntp, etc. It runs on most OS's (although you're better off putting the server on a UNIX/LINUX system). Other than loving this package and using it wherever I've gone to work, I don't have any other reason (no monetary gain) for advertising for them. So, here's the link: http://www.bb4.com/ And of course, if your boss needs support and wants to buy the package/license it, and add it to his support budget he can!!
