Hi, The only NICs officially supported by CheckPoint are listed in the following table : http://support.checkpoint.com/kb/docs/public/firewall1/html/NIC_listing.html If you look carefully you'll notice that CheckPoint only supports 3 ethernet NICs for SecurePlatform and none is quad NIC! How to build a 'serious' firewall with SecurePlatform in these conditions ? We expericenced some issues (random kernel panics) with D-Link Quad NICs DFE-580-TX and DFE-580-TX on Splat 1st and 2nd edition. Theses issues are referenced in RedHat bugtrack (drivers needs to be patched and recompiled to work). We successfully tried Adaptec Quad NICs ANA-64044LV and ANA-62044 (this one seems to be discontinued now) with Splat 1st and 2nd edition (CheckPoint NG FP3 HF2 to HFA314). Note: When testing quad NICs I recommend to disable any onboard ethernet (the same goes for USB, and onboard audio card). Important note : We also experienced a bug between CheckPoint, Linux and 2 ANA-6X044 quad NICs on trademark PC (NEC). Linux completely freezes when an interface located on the 2nd NIC (eth5 to eth8) was enabled. This bug is due to the fact that cards were inserted in PCI slots #2 and #3 To avoid this weird hardware bug, the quad NICs needs to be inserted from the first PCI slot (the one the most far from the CPU usually), then the second one, ...
