Re: [FW-1] VMWARE - Management Station?

I can't see any reason why it would not work for Management... Checkpoint
installed on VMWARE should see the virtual NICs correctly.

I have both SecurePlatform and Redhat 9 enforcement points in a VMWARE
testlab and they both pick up the NICs with no issues..

Has anyone used a VMWARE "guest" OS as a NG management station?

My customer is consolidating a majority of their servers onto beefy Intel
based systems with VMWARE GSX. I am curious if I can run a linux NG
management station from a VMWARE guest OS.

Has this been done before and will it work? I am thinking not, I thought
Checkpoint was picking with the system interface (hme0, qfe0, ethX) and
vmnetX might not work. Not sure tho! Comments?

Thanks,

Tom
