Hello,

We've got a P3 1G with 256MB or ram which is running CP NG FP3 HFA-315
and it's managing about a dozen of different firewalls on different
platforms and different configurations. Usually only 2 or 3 firewalls
are active at the time though.

I'd say the Pentium III will be plenty to handle a single enforcement
point as in your case.

Regards,

Werner

Subject: [FW-1] Separating the Management server and enforcement module

Hi there,

We are planning to separate the Management server and the enforcement
module, but wonder what is the hardware requirment of the management
server. Now they are both running on one server.

Someone told me that a Pentium III PC will work fine, and I have to
install the management server on a new machine and reinstall the
existing Firewall server with only the enforcement module.

Any advise and idea ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Catherine Kan
