I wouldn't upgrade to HF1 but rather to, at least HF2, and even better
to one of the HFA_3xx ... (the HFA of the day is HFA_315)

Note that both HF1 & HF2 contain a separate GUI kit, not the HFA_3xx ones.

The way you should upgrade is : Management + its GUI -> remote GUI ->
   Firewall Modules

Subject: [FW-1] HF1 Upgrade

Hello,

We are planning to apply HF1 to our NG FP3 Firewall.
When i went throught the release notes i got few
doubts. could you please throw some light on them..

My management server is on windows and the firwall is
IPSO one.

1. It has been written that..

Its advisable to upgrade the management server first
then upgrade the modules.

does this mean that, i need to apply the HF1 for SVN
foundation on the windows i.e management server first
and apply the IPSO SVN foundation on the firewalled
module. Is it correct?

2. inorder to upgrade the GUI client, it has been
specified in the release notes that the version will
be 53902_1.

But when i saw on the site, the version number for the
GUI clients is 53904_1.

will it be a problem if i upgrade to HF 1 and use this
different version on smart client?

i took a backup using voyager. How can i perform the
backup for management server on windows?

Thanks,
V.r
