Title: Very slow connections using Securemote NG FP3 on Dial up

Hi All,
I am using Checkpoint NG FP3 HF1 on a Solaris 8 box(64 bit).
Users use Securemote to connect to the Firewall to download
E-mails(MS-Outlook 2000) using RPC.
The problem is download is too slow.I know that encryption adds more to the
size of each packet.
But the connection is just too slow.a 1 MB file typically takes 10 minutes
to download on a 52K dialup, whereas using stanadrd RAS it takes hardly 2
minutes.
Also when monitoring through the Dial up monitor , there are periods of no
activity and suddenly some amout of data is transferred.
The clients use DES+MD5 for encryption.

There is hardly any load on the Sparc machine.It is a Sun 280R Ultra iii 900 Mhz with 1 GB of RAM.
concurrent processor utilisation is less than 5%

Has anyone experienced any such problems like this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
