All, We have this case. MS told a customer that his VPN could be interfering with the functioning of MS word when saving a document remotely. This VPN is managed by a Checkpoint module 4.1 running under Solaris 7. The problem is this. The user opens a doc file located in his trusted network through MS word located in a laptop at the other side. The file opens ok, but when he saves the document and opens it again the file has garbage in it. I told him that this appears to me more a Word saving related issue than the VPN itself. I suggested him that if he does the same thing but with a regular text editor like "notepad" the problem shouldn't be present we could discard the VPN issue and conclude that may be how MS word treats the presentation layer. any ideas? _______________________________________________________________________________ Adrián OIguín SchlumbergerSema Network Security Engineer NIS Division Tel.
