[FW-1] moving management in NG?

I currently am running my NG FP2 enterprise management station on NT4
server, and wish to move it to RedHat Linux 7.3, and after that, add a
2nd RedHat Linux 7.3 server as a secondary/redundant/whatever.

I called Nokia, and they told me it could not be done. They said the
ONLY way to move a management station in NG was with FP3, and then the
hostname, IP and operating system ALL MUST stay the same, otherwise the
SIC would become corrupted.

Seeing as how I want to try it anyway, has anyone done this?  It seems
to me that a corrupted SIC can be fixed and is not a huge deal.  I was
planning on moving to a different IP and hostname, but if need be, I can
keep it the same.  Has anyone run FP2 management on Redhat 7.3 and would
care to comment?
