Re: [FW-1] Runnins FW-1 SP5 on a Sun Ultra 5 Sparc.

you could use Rainwall certainly with a quad nic. I run 2 legs here now,
moving
to 3 but anticipate no problems. Each leg gets a VIP so it does not
matter which FW
is up or down.. it's seamless too so you can do support during the day.

How convenient is that? ;)
Just my 2 cents. Probably many ways to do this but whatever path, I
would definitely
cluster the thing.

After a crash of our firewall machine a couple of weeks ago and
spending
most of the night building a new one, has prompted me to look into
some
other method of disaster recovery.

I've looked into High Availability but since I'm using a quad
Ethernet card
and four different network legs, I'm not sure that this would work.
If
anyone has any suggestions on the method they use to protect their
main
firewall machine, I would greatly appreciate an email pointing me in
the
right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Richard
