Re: [FW-1] Protecting pop3




s/b able to do pop3 via ssl tunnel as well, I think.

(Certain amount of end-user config though, to point pop client at localhost, maybe also w/IMAP, or is there an out of box app that does the client end tunneling config for it?)

Well all you security freaks have port 25 open to the world on your mail
servers... let's remember we also need to encourage some level of usability
with our systems!!

Another option you have is to use IMAP which you can run over SSL (tcp/993).
I've found this to fit within my organization's security policy and provides
a great way to access your email if you don't have a VPN client.
