None, other than ease of FW management.  If administrating multiple segmented networks configured in a failover environment, multiple firewalls (four or more) with unique yet similar rule bases, and multiple known temporary rules for each network, it is much easier with a limited IT staff to have a rule disable itself after, say, two weeks automatically than to remember that on date X, rule 20 on network A must shut off, and on date Y, rule 18 on network B must shut off five days after that.

Another question:  When the applied time object shuts the rule off, does it re-push the entire policy?
