Re: [FW-1] AW: [FW-1] Log Files

Jochen,

Trying to answer the questions :

>if i have an distributed 4.1 installation:

>-in which manner will the logs be written to the module and the mgmt?

The logs should be written to the Mgmt module, if the putkeys were done
succesfully, this can be seen when a connection is marked as ESTABLISHED
on port 257/tcp between both systems

>-whats up if the connection between the module and the mgmt fail?

   The module starts logging locally

>-whats up if the connection between the module and the mgmt come back?

Logs should be sent again to the Management Server

>-is it possible to view the logs on the module console with fw log realtime?

use the command fw log -nft on the Mgmt server ... this is the equivalent
of doing a tail -f file in Unix

>it seems the fw log command read only old log files from the disk. but there
>are no actually logs.

where are there no logs ? On the Mgmt or on the module

sorry,

this answers help me not really.

if i have an distributed 4.1 installation:

-in which manner will the logs be written to the module and the mgmt?

-whats up if the connection between the module and the mgmt fail?

-whats up if the connection between the module and the mgmt come back?

-is it possible to view the logs on the module console with fw log realtime?
it seems the fw log command read only old log files from the disk. but there
are no actually logs.

thx
Jochen
