As far
as I have read in the releasenote, only with FP2, you can upgrade directly from
4.1 SP2. FP3 needs 4.1 SP6, altough the FP3 releasenotes are from beta
release.

save time, you don't need to go to SP6 first. Per release notes, direct
upgrades to NG from 4.1 SP2 and later are supported.

First upgrade IPSO to the latest 3.5 (FCS 8 or 10?) version, which
runs both 4.1 and NG, using "newimage" AND make sure you use the correct
command-line switches to preserve the existing config . Then reboot
and upgrade FW-1 4.1 to SP-6 (newpkg with the correct command-line
switches). Then upgrade to FP3. If NG doesn't work
at this point, you can just revert back to the same 4.1 image and both will
function with IPSO 3.5. Then you can try 4.1 to FP2, and FP2 to FP3,
etc.

Does anybody have a
step-by-step procedure (with common problems and tweaks) to upgrade FW-4.1
to FP3 on IPSO3.4.1-fcs10.
So basically I have to upgrade
the IPSO also simultaneously to 3.6.
What I am looking for is the
right way to do it. I mean can I go to 3.6 from 3.4.1 straight away? Similarly how about 4.1 to
FP3.
I am sure there are enough
Pros who have done this many times and exactly know the procedure without
experiencing lot of downtime(I have only one nokia box) so I cannot do a
fresh install on one box and upgrade it from
there.
