Re: [FW-1] FW-1 Install and MS Exchange Problems

Check to see if you are getting drops on Rule 0. The error in 4.1 is "unknown established TCP packet"; the error in NG is "th_flags##message_info TCP packet out of state". The issue is the connection between the client and the server is dropped out of the state table. One fix is to allow non-Syn packets.

Subject: [FW-1] FW-1 Install and MS Exchange Problems

New install of Checkpoint FW-1 FP2.

No problems initially (1 month ago), but lately we have had some complaints from users that serious delays with reading and sending email, getting errors like "Unable to update public free/busy data. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder or your system administrator."

The exchange server is located in a remote network across a MAN. No problems like this before the firewall install. NAT is turned OFF from the private network to the network with the Exchange server.

Anyone have experience with this or have any ideas?
