Re: [FW-1] NG and Voice over IP problems ???

Title: RE: [FW-1] NG and Voice over IP problems ???

Does the application use fixed source ports with back-to-back connections?

Just wondering. We have a CUSEEME-type (custom coded) Voice Over IP solution which works through the firewall.  We originally had this application running through a 4.1 firewall and when we moved it to an NG firewall, it broke. Found out the reason was due to how our application was written with back-to-back connections being establish using the same source port.  In NG, additional security code was written to help with DOS attacks which also broke our application.  We got a fix for it but I have NO idea based on your information if this is your problem or not!

Hi, we have ClusterXL on two U-250 with Solaris 8. We are implementing
a solution of AVAYA (Avaya IPAgent), this's a Voice under IP solution.
This solution use H.323, Q.....tcp/udp standars for VoiceunderIP.
Testing internaly (without firewall) all go OK, but when we try to do
it with a firewall, the application don't run. The Log Viewer have
ACCEPTED the traffic, but the application not run. I had see for
internet people with the same problem...(Firewall Checkpoint and
VoiceIP plattform) and they have problems too. Whats the solution for
this issue? Any product? Thaks from Spain.
