Re: [FW-1] FW1 & Devices that support EtherChannel?

The compaq dual port Compaq 3131 support Cisco EtherChanel. It relay simple to configure on W2K. I have somme probleme with etherchanel. All traffic from a MAC use always the same cable. In my case all traffic come from a router and all traffic use only one cable.

Currently we have ACL's on a 6500 cisco switch handling the traffic.
This does not provide the security that we want for this application so we
are
looking at real firewall solutions.  (Also due to the fact that the 6500
doesn't
have a lot of horsepower to handle this with ACL lookups under a full load.

Seeing that some off the shelf (compaq/secureplatform) combinations can
go for 3+ Gbps (paper) (real world probably 1.5gbps) with older tech newer
systems should support more.  The big issue is that I have not found any
sites
talking about EtherChannel to allow the bonding the lines.

Steve,

     Just curious, what platform ("basic FW design") are you running your
FW1 on?  That seems like a great deal of traffic that your FW will have to
handle without causing a bottleneck.

with at least 2 Gigabit ethernet links bonded together?

We have a need that we require more than 1 Gbps of traffic going through a
FW
(basic FW design, inside/outside w/ approx 1.4Gbps in/out each interface).
