Every time I have seen this problem, it has been related to
MTU. You can further test this by attempting to ftp a file larger that
2kb - the first packet will likely arrive, but the transfer will hang.
Connections like telnet, ssh, and terminal services should work fine.
In all cases I have seen before, reducing the MTU on the client to something
small (e.g. start with 500 bytes) resolved the issue. Try manually
editing the registry to modify the MTU - see the link on MS Technet that
relates closely to the issue you describe: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q315008&

Subject: [FW-1] Outlook hangs through SecuRemote
I'm having some problems with my Securemote 4.1
client.
I am running Checkpoint VPN-1 version 4.1 on
my server.
I have a high speed Verizon DSL
connection at home which used to work great.
I could
get to all my applications including my Outlook.
All
of a sudden, my Outlook no longer works. It seems to hang. Also, for
some reason, Outlook Web Access also doesn't work and all I
get is a blank
screen. When I kill the VPN-1
service, Outlook Web Access seems to work
again.
I've asked around and no other users
are experiencing this issue.
I've tried the
connection from 3 different machines at home and it's the
same issue each time.
I can get to some
applications but not to all.
I came across a post
about using Dr. TCP to change the MTU. Did that...still
facing the problem. I'm just wondering why the problem should arise
all of a
sudden when everything seemed to be working
great.
Please advise.
Could
my ISP have something to do with it ?
Thanks
Rakhi
