Another Software program called Internet Manager (IM) from Elron will let you block either URL addresses, Content, and workstations by IP or name. This software will also keep detailed information on each users activity. IM will also update its own database of sites such as or other sites based on content. The advantage with this is that it runs on a separate server and does not burden the Firewall with further packet blocking and logging. The administrator can with the click of a button display sites on screen. Users have not noticed any slowdown in browsing. I am just finished setting up Websense and FW-1 NG FP2, solaris 8, and Websense running on Win2k sp3 (70gb hdd, 256 mb ram and PIII 800 MHZ) and I have a issue of slow browsing when users go through websense. If remove the websense rule and allow them to browse the pages load super fast. (eg www.apple.com load in 5 -8 seconds complete) with websense the pages take a real long to begin to load (noticably delay like 5-8 seconds before anything comes up ) then page may load half way and just stop for no reason.
