I had the same problem eith my nokia box after upgrading tp FP2 . So far , the only solution was to re-install the Firewall. Not a very good idea......

make sure the ip address of the system you are connecting from is in the $FWDIR/conf/gui-clients file.

I'm having the same issue with NG FP2.  Has anyone found a fix and/or workaround for this problem?  I have tried all suggestions in this mailing list thus far with no success.  Thanks for any additional help/suggestions.

I've installed CheckPoint NG under  WinNT4 SP6 no problems.  Installed
was the Enterprise Management & Enforcement Module for FW-1/VPN-1.  I added
an administrator with w/r access and added the IP of a GUI client.  From the
GUI client, I can ping the FW-1/Management server,  also can ping GUI
client from the MS.  When I try to connect to the MS using the NG Log Viewer
or Policy Editor, I get the following error:  'Connection cannot be
initiated.  Make sure that the Server 'x.x.x.x' is up and running.' 

Please Suggest.
