First, thanks for the response.. There is no one process that is eating up the CPU.. At worst is fwd for reporting.. But that is less than 10% at any time, and we have killed it with no improvement. ps is a less than useful command unfortunately... It just gives you the one moment in time look, as opposed to over a period of time with vmstat. The box just seems to be hosed at anything over 20k connections.. Any other ideas?
