Mark,

In NG FP2 you don't proceed like this anymore.

The way you should do it now is :

        - On the Firewall Object, select the SecureClient Policy Server in the
General Properties / Installed Products tab

        - Go then to the Authentication tab, you should see a Policy Server part
in which you add the group of user that will use this Policy Server
                to Authenticate

        - You should of course first have this user group and users created.

Jonathan,

That has solved the desktop security tab however I still have an issue where
I cannot add a policy server. when I select servers I get CA, LDAP, Radius
etc but no policy. I have a secureclient license on the management station
and on the firewall module but cannot seem to select add a policy server. I
have setup the auth tab so that my user group etc is available.

help !

thanks

Mark

Mark,

You'll be pleased to hear that you aren't going mad (yet!) Take a look at
Julian Burton's post pasted below to see what to do.

Cheers,

Jonathan

If you are doing a Save As... beware: you will lose the Desktop Security
tab.
To get a new filename for each version you will need to do a File New,
check all the options you need, and copy and paste all the rules from the
old policy to the new one (with associated saves each time you move from
policy to policy).

If you are not thoroughly annoyed by this by now, you soon will be!

Julian

I have upgraded to FP2 and I can no longer use desktop security and when I
try and add a new policy server I am not able to select policy server from
the drop down menu when you mange->servers. I am running a W2k Management
station. Am I going mad or have other people experienced this ?

thanks

Mark
