Re: [FW-1] "Unable to save"
It
shouldn't return, but... If you have the time, the will and the resources, maybe
you could set a lab and try to reproduce the problem.

"Have you tried reinstalling everything?" For me, thats
what I'm trying to avoid doing.
"If you create a new policy, can you save
it?" NO.
"Can you
install the policy?" NO.
"What OS are you using? Have you searched the archives
or Google for it?" W2K/SP2,
Yes.
S.
Hello all,
What OS are you using? Have you searched the archives or Google for
it?
Are you using a backup from a diferent version/release that you are
running?
If you create a new policy, can you save it?
Can you install the policy?
Have you tried reinstalling everything?

I can not save at all, even if i try with a different
name.
I try a cpstop, cpstart but the problem persists. The only
solution is to replace the directories conf and
database with a backup i have made
before.
This happens when i have a distributed installation
(Gui+Management in one machine and firewall in another), and in a
standalone installation too.
I only use the Administrator user odf w2k.
I can not make any change, and even if i do not make a change at
all, i could not install the policies, because it saves before
installation.
Thank you
Ricardo Marques
Hmm... can you save as a different name ok
?
You could try an fwstop, and fwstart, make the policy changes,
and then save ? This would get past any file locking
problems.
Is the machine you're doing this from in gui-clients on the
management machine ?
Does the user account your using have rw rights on the
management machine ?
Check both with CPCONFIG.
What changes are you trying to make ?
Can you make ANY change at all, and save successfully - eg
change an object's colour ?
No, the disk has plenty of space, and the permissons where
not changed, and it worked before.
Thank you
Ricardo Marques
Run out of disk space / permissions ?
As
anyone else got this error when trying to save or install
policies?
Thank you all in advance
