I have a simple scenario where two subnets are connected through fw-1(4.1 sp5 on IP440 3.4.1). 192.168.2.0/24 and 192.168.3.0/24 are connected on the same interface of the firewall with 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1 as their default gateways on the firewall(multiple addresses in the interface of the firewall)respectively. the mail servers are located on 192.168.3.0/24 subnet. from last couple of days, any mails with attachments originating from .2 subnet is either very very slow or times out. they can receive just fine but cannot send. both these subnets are natted to same legal ip. i do have nat rules to not nat any traffic between the two subnets. i.e., subnet .2 --> subnet .3 any orig orig orig and vice versa. subnet 3 is working perfectly fine. any ideas!! i have ruled out the switches and other devices in between by changing the IP of a wkst earlier on .3 subnet to .2 subnet and it started having problems. so it has to do with the .2 subnet!!! any ideas?
