Don,

Have you got any info on the risks of the web-based clients (versus the
full-install variety) for these items?  Are they parallel one-to-one?  Or
are the web-based ones "safer" (foot in mouth) due to more limited
functionality?

Unfortunately AIM even has a web based client. Although locking down the
desktops will help prevent some of the issues that arise from running AIM,
they can't protect you from everything.
