Secondly, look at your resolv.conf and see if it is resolving to FILES or DNS or Both and which order. The fact that you only have the name [ie. charon] in the error message indicates to me that it is not sure of the FQDN [Fully Qualified Domain Name]. For example.... charon is resolving as a standalone system and not charon.sonycom.com [if that's the right domain].
