Are you running Solaris, and did you do a sys-unconfig to change the name of the system?
If you just change the name in hosts and hostname.networkinterface the name is not completely changed on the system.

Where exactly does the content of the source column in the logs come from?
I've had cases where I've renamed firewall modules due to relocation and
the source for those logs still shows up under the old name. The only
source I can find for some of the names seems to fwauth.keys, but not all
of the old names seem to be in there, so I don't know that that's the
answer, or at least a complete one.
