What I don't understand is how can the microsoft licensing apply to Firewall-1. Surely the WS is simply acting as an IP router? I have always been under the impression that MS licensing applies to MS client/server sessions. -----Original Message----- Subject: Re: [FW-1] Installing FW-1 4.1 on Win NT > Quote, > > NT4 SERVER has enhanced features that make it a powerful network server > operating system for server-based applications, such as SQL Server, Systems > Management Server, SNA Server, and Exchange Server. I'm not sure what you are quoting, but I had been told by CheckPoint that they do not allow the installs as a result of licensing issues. The thing is, CheckPoint definitely runs on WS. I have set it up in labs a number of times that way. NG however, no longer allows this. -Don ================================================= To set vacation, Out Of Office, or away messages, send an email to [email protected] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [email protected] =================================================
