Re: [FW-1] Whats the deal with CCSE+

Title: RE: [FW-1] Whats the deal with CCSE+

Someone at work indicated that a friend had gotten him a copy of what he called a "Checkpoint simulator".  He didn't really use/need it, so doesn't have any more details.  I asked him to find it for me, so I can try it, see if it's useful, etc.

If/when I ever get my hands on it, I'll post to the list.

I must agree with Jim Parker.
This whole topic makes me nauseus from the fact there is little or NO
information to achieve any in-depth understanding of these topics without
the opportunities created by your employer or shovelling tons of cash to
training organizations.
How many employers will allow you to play around with an online firewall to
obtain experience with VPN's etc...

At least CISCO has a router emulator to help assist with understanding the
IOS.

Maybe there is one for Checkpoint...

ANYONE KNOW?

I agree that is does seem like an M$ tactic BUT I found that MCSE course
didn't have enough in depth on VPN, SecuRemote and auth (e.g.
Radius/LDAP/NT/AD/ACE) - I had to learn through experience (and problems !).
Now I know we are not there to learn auth schemes but we need to know how it
interacts CP s/w and any gotchas.

Maybe if these areas are thoroughly covered it will at least be
considering....

Any other takes out there ?

(Maybe I just had a crummy training org ?)
