[FW-1] Smurf Attack

Title: Smurf Attack

Hi,

From my scan reports, I start seeing warnings about the "smurf attack" on my DMZ.
Does anyone know how to effectively block this kind of vulnerability on the FW-1 level ?

I already did it on the hosts level and it didn't fix the problem.
Thank you for any input.

Regards,
Serge

Network Neighborhood doesn't simply copy the WINS database.  It will use WINS, if it can, to locate a "Browse Master" from which to obtain the list, but the NN list is a separate entity.

You don't say what the client OS is, but I've had much better success getting NN to populate on NT/2K clients than on 95/98 clients....
