I stopped the diagnostic messages of Wind/U Warning (271): messages through the following. in Solaris 8, 64 bit setenv LANG en_US.ISO8859-1 unsetenv LC_CTYPE unsetenv LC_NUMERIC unsetenv LC_TIME Naturally, there is nothing at checkpoint about the messages even though they occur when running the GUI. The following URLs are good references. The problem has existed in the 4.1 and earlier Motif GUI.
