Title: simple question about nat and routing ...
If I got this
right, you have 1.1.1.3 behind your firewall, and you want it to be seen by the
outside world.
You will need to
do an arp -s with the 1.1.1.3 address to the mac address of the firewalls nic
(the 1.1.1.2).
i.e. arp -s
1.1.1.3 00:00:20:c8:51:76 pub.
This way the
1.1.1.3 address is seen outside your firwall, but is still controlled by the
rules you set.
To find out what
the nic's mac address is type ifconfig and look for the interface with
1.1.1.2.
Sorry if this is
totally wrong, and I didnt understand the question.
Hi,
I have an ISDN Router with IP 1.1.1.1 (my
pool is 1.1.1.1-16)
the lan nic of the router is 1.1.1.2 so
evreything that comes to 1.1.1.1 is going to 1.1.1.2.
My problem is with all the other range, the
fw (linux, 4.1) does not recive any of the packets to the adrresses
1.1.1.3-16
if i'll put another pc in the same line as
the fw ( switch and uplink to the router ) with ip 1.1.1.3 i'll reach it from
the www
Any Idea ???
