IP330, CP - NG FP1, Boot Img: 3.4.2 I just received the hardware from the vendor with all software pre-installed to run and configure via Nokia Voyager. I am new to the CheckPoint stuff, so please excuse me for asking such a lame question....but how do you go about to start the Firewall successfully? In the Voyager, I've enabled [a] CP SVN Foundation NG FP1, [b] CP Policy Server FP 1, [c] CP VPN-1/Firewall-1 NG FP1, and rebooted the unit after enabling each option. Then, I typed "cpstart" and SVN Foundation starts fine, but it indicates that FW-1 is not configured. Then, I type "cpconfig" to accept the license agreement, and was presented with 2 choices: (1) VPN-1 & FireWall-1 Enterprise Primary Management and Enforcement Module (2) VPN-1 & FireWall-1 Enforcement Module Enter option 1 would give me the following error: Enter your selection (1-2/a-abort) [1]: 1 ln: /opt/CPfw1-50-01/boot/modules/fwmod.3.4.2-FCS2.o: File exists Description Connections already exists in SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\CPShared\5.0\rese rved\CPKernelTableInterpret\Dlls\FireWall-1 Description VPN already exists in SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\CPShared\5.0\reserved\CPK ernelTableInterpret\Dlls\VPN-1 IP forwarding disabled Hardening OS Security: IP forwarding will be disabled during boot. Generating default filter cp: /opt/CPfw1-50-01/state/default.bin: No such file or directory Cannot copy default filter to /opt/CPfw1-50-01/boot cpinst: setbootsec failed cpinst: Configuration aborted I also tried selecting option 2, but got the same result. Under Host Name Assigment, I did specify a hostname with a valid public IP address. From the Nokia box, I can ping internal nodes as well as internet hosts, but I couldn't run CPCONFIG to setup the firewall. Any help is greatly appreciated.
